The last two days of my trip around the Sea of Japan side of Japan were spent in Hiroshima where it did nothing but rain. People were being evacuated from the hilly parts of the city due to the fear of mudslides, which are a common occurrence in Hiroshima. Luckily, I didn't hear about any slides, but the heavy rain did cause transportation chaos in the city. The city basically shut down at 3 pm. It was a weird experience. One positive, rain does make for interesting night photography.
