Go on a hunt for Fantastic Critters at Singapore's museums during Children's Season 2021! Jointly presented by the National Heritage Board (NHB) and the Museum Roundtable (MR), the annual festival which runs from today till 31 December 2021, aims to provide cultural and educational experiences that will educate and inspire both the young and their families on Singapore's heritage.
Participants can expect to enjoy a range of family-friendly offerings of more than 90 exhibitions, programmes and activities by participating MR museums.
Children's Season 2021: Fantastic Critters & Where To Find Them
Date: 20 November - 12 December 2021 (Closed on Mondays)
Timing: 10.00am – 5.00pm
Format: Self-guided onsite activity
Admission: Free
The 15 critters will be featured in a special Fantastic Critters Activity Booklet which includes activities based on participating museums' collections and artefacts, for children to complete by visiting the museums. By completing activities, children will be able to collect unique Fantastic Critter stickers representing each museum. Upon collecting any 10 of the 15 available stickers, children and their families can scan a QR code in the booklet and redeem a specially-designed Fantastic Critters mask pack (1 x adult, 1 x child), while stocks last.
The Fantastic Critters Activity Booklet can be collected at any of the 15 participating museums from today till 31 December 2021. Families can also choose to print out the softcopy activity booklet, which is available on NHB's website, and bring the self-printed copies to the museums to collect the stickers.
Note: Suitable for children 5 years old and above.
Flutters of Hope
Date: 20 November - 31 December (Closed on Mondays)

Admission: Free, no registration required
A collaboration with NParks and Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, Flutters of Hope features five species of butterflies that are commonly found in Singapore mounted on the front façade of the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall. It depicts the delicate moment in a butterfly's life cycle when it has just emerged from its pupa and before it takes off into the sky.
"Be a Little Fashionista" Heritage Hunt Upsized
Date: 20 November - 12 December 2021 (Closed on Mondays)
The "Be a Little Fashionista" heritage hunt is back and better than ever with a fun-filled kit to keep the little ones busy! Grab the kit and go on a hunt with Xiao Qing to discover Chinese fashion, culture and history through a series of interactive activities. The activity is co-designed with students of River Valley High School.

Get Crafty with Xiao Qing: Traditional Costume

Get crafty with Xiao Qing and learn more about Chinese traditional costumes through this DIY paper cube activity. This is available at the memorial hall or you can download online and DIY at home!
Note: Suitable for children 5 years old and above.
Fun with Chinese Activity Kit - Xiao Qing and Traditional Costumes
Date: 20 November - 31 December 2021 (Closed on Mondays)
Timing: 10.00am – 5.00pm
Format: Take-home kit for purchase
Fee: $9.90 per kit ($7.90 per kit if you complete "Get Crafty with Xiao Qing: Traditional Costume" and show it to our visitor services staff at the reception counter.)
Have fun learning Chinese with Xiao Qing as you unravel the world of traditional Chinese costumes through a century-old wooden chest filled with her grandmother's clothes collection of the past.
Pick up cool printing techniques in this printmaking workshop and create your very own collection of scented prints with different types of flowers and herbs.
Suitable for children aged 7 years and above. Adult supervision is recommended.
Parents will be required to purchase a ticket if they wish to accompany their child.
