I once read of Kangaroo Island being described as 'Australia's Galapagos'. I felt that was a bit of an exaggeration, but it is true that the island abounds in wildlife. That's mainly because 'imported' animals, such as rabbits and foxes were never introduced there. But, strangely, when we last visited in 2003, I don't recall seeing kangaroos there. But, there were plenty of other creatures … mainly seals and sea-lions.
