[New post] Went to see raptors. All I saw was this tit.

I was pretty excited when I packed the camera bag and made the hour and a half trip to the Hikairgaoka Park bird reserve. The reserve is located on the edge of Hikarigaoka Park in northwest Tokyo. Apparently, it is home to hawks, cranes, kingfishers, ducks, and egrets. Well, not yesterday. About the only wildlife in the reserve was a bunch of randy frogs. While interesting, I didn't make the trip to see tadpoles get made. Frustrated, I was about to leave when a group of fellow birdwatchers with their 600mm zoom lenses started firing away. Intrigued, I found an open spot in the blind to see for myself what all the commotion was about. A tit? A tiny little Japanese Tit. Ah well, that is par for the course for nature photography I suppose. Maybe the spring will bring some bigger members of the avian family.
