However, a letter jointly signed by Mr Peter Ijwo, Director of Operations and Mr Dirijo D. Dahni, Admin Officer, Abuja Municipal Area Council and availed to 9News Nigeria disclose that the street naming with the name of Mr Ekechi followed due process and approval by law. In his words, "We are pleased to inform you that you have been unanimously endorsed amongst eminent Nigerians, Leaders and Public Servants for the distinct honour of being immortalized by naming a street (in your name) within the Abuja Municipality, Federal Capital Territory.
