The 30-page suit filed on Wednesday alleges that Michael Cohen breached his attorney-client relationship and partook in other violations, Fox News reported.
''This is an action arising from (Cohen's) many violations of fiduciary responsibility, unjust enrichment, conversion, and contract breaches as a result of (Cohen's) former work as (Trump's) employee and attorney,' according to the claim filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
It charges Cohen with distributing untruths about Trump that were "likely to be embarrassing or detrimental" and that the untruths were said "with malicious intent and to wholly self-serving ends."

Cohen allegedly disregarded "cease and desist" orders and continued to make a "myriad of public statements" on podcasts, in interviews with broadcast media, and in two books he published.
Eight days after Trump entered a not guilty plea to 34 felony counts in the hush money case in Manhattan Criminal Court, the lawsuit was filed. Investigations into the former president's alleged involvement in Cohen's $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 campaign to discredit her allegations of an affair with Trump are being conducted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Cohen testified before the grand jury that indicted Trump on March 30.

However, an unnamed source close to Trump's legal team told Fox News that the lawsuit against Cohen 'has nothing to do with the Manhattan DA's lawless and fact-less case and is a totally separate matter'.
Cohen pleaded guilty to arranging the hush payment, as well as to making false statements to a financial institution and Congress and engaging in tax evasion. He was sentenced to three years behind bars.
As of late afternoon Wednesday, Cohen had not commented publicly on the lawsuit.
