So that was May. 253 bank holidays with a couple of Saturdays thrown in. And some ceremony or other. There's a vicious rumour going around that we are half way through the year. Obviously, that's a mistake. We are starting June as we ended May, on holiday. Sun, sea, and sand in our sandwiches, plenty of ice cream and Cornish pasties. What more could you wish for? A little more reading time perhaps.

A quietish month for incoming this time. I did the cut off from the day before we went away so anything waiting for me when I get back will count in June's incoming.

Here's what arrived:

  1. The Cassandra Complex by Holly Smale, sent for review by Century.
  2. Twice Round the Clock by Billie Houston, sent for review by the British Library.
  3. Deadly Autumn Harvest by Tony Mott, translated by Marina Sofia, sent for review by Corylus.
  4. The Grief House by Rebecca Thorne, sent for review by Bloomsbury.
  5. Fearless by M W Craven, sent for review by Contstable.
  6. Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne, a purchase from Whitby Bookshop.
  7. Preloved by Lauren Bravo, a prize from Simon & Schuster.
  8. Praying Mantis by R V Raman, sent for review by Pushkin Vertigo.
  9. All the Sinners Bleed by S A Cosby, sent for review by Headline.
  10. My Murder by Katie Williams, sent for review by Wildfire.
  11. It Came from the Closest, edited by Joe Vallese, sent for review by Saraband.
  12. Forgotten on Sunday by Valerie Perrin, sent for review by Europa Editions.
  13. A Bird in Winter by Louise Doughty, sent for review by Faber.
  14. Bookshops and Bonedust by Travis Baldree, sent for review by Tor.
  15. The Unheard by Anne Worthington, sent for review by Helen Richardson.
  16. 73 Dove Street by Julie Owen Moylan, sent for review by Michael Joseph.
  17. Through Three Rooms by Sven Elvestad, sent for review by Hannah Hargrave.
  18. The Stargazers by Harriet Evans, sent for review by Headline.
  19. The Premonitions Bureau by Sam Knight, a purchase from Padstow Bookshop.

As for what left, here's what I read:

  1. Skin Deep by Antonia Lassa.
  2. The Last Dance by Mark Billingham.
  3. The Murderous Type by Sue Minix.
  4. The Minuscule Mansion of Myra Malone by Audrey Burges.
  5. The Tumbling Girl by Bridget Walsh.
  6. Beach Read by Emily Henry.
  7. Through Three Rooms by Sven Elvestad.

I also gave away 12 books to a friend so that's 19 in and 19 out. A balance! Wonders will never cease! I may buy a book to celebrate.

I hope you enjoyed whatever you read this month and managed to enjoy the many bank holidays. Until next month.
