I am a bit busy with painting admin and commissions, so here is a blast from the past. It is a painting of the Leeds to Liverpool canal I did in 2006. The subject is a swing bridge - just discernable. There are a number of swing bridges where roads meet the canal and drivers - or walkers- have to operate the electrical driven bridge to cross. Here though, there isnt a road. All this seems to do, is connect the farm on the right hand side to a field on the left. It appears that the farmer isnt too bothered - probably too busy counting their subsidies - as the swing bridge is in serious disrepair.
With the old pub in the background and the power lines, I thought that it would make an interesting subject.
Other canal scenes ar available on my website: grahammcquadefineart.com
