In honour of Canada Day, I searched for the word Canada in my media library and here are ten photos that came up.
A Canada Goose I photographed in Stephen Juba Park near my home.
Dave and me sitting at the most eastern point in Canada in Cape Spear Newfoundland.
The grave of an unknown Canadian soldier I photographed at the Sai Wan War Cemetery in Hong Kong.
Statue by Helen Granger Young at the Manitoba Legislature that recognizes the famous five who fought to have women recognized as persons in Canada
The Inukshuk by Manasie Akpaliapik on the rooftop of the Winnipeg Art Gallery. The inukshuk has become a symbol for Canada's Inuit people and is on the flag of the territory of Nunavut.
Canada's Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg
My husband Dave and our great nephew Mason at the southern tip of Canada.
Me sitting in the Speakers Chair in Canada's House of Commons on a special tour of Parliament Hill courtesy of a family member who worked as a guide there.
My maternal grandparents' 1945 Canadian passport. They were initially American citizens because they were both born in Kansas and immigrated to Canada at the turn of the century. They became Canadian citizens in 1941. Note that my grandmother did not get her own passport but was included in my grandfather's.
My husband Dave and me at the Canada Day celebrations at The Forks Park near our home in 2017.
Happy Canada Day!
