1 year ago (edited) I see a lot of ridiculous comments here. The Stones were Disrespecting Muddy? They were friends. Muddy was better before the Stones joined in? Of course he was better, no one could be better at Being muddy than the man himself. This wasn't a one time occurrence.. the Stones always dropped in to the Chicago joints when they were on tour. Brian Jones named the band after one of Muddy's songs, Guess which one.. This was a historic occasion because it was Recorded. Mick was so nervous he couldn't be himself and he certainly knew who he was standing next to.. The British Invasion helped put the spotlight on the old Bluesmen who created this music. And introduced them to a huge new audience. Eric Clapton gave them their due also, he called Muddy his father and took him on tour , Muddy loved him . There wouldn't have been Rock and Roll without this music. Blues is R&R. It was good for everyone. Why do you think Buddy Guy popped in? Lefty Dizz? They wanted to be on that recording and show their stuff. It was a fun night for all. It was beautiful. Everyone was smiling. And no the harp player was not overplaying..lol.. He was "Mojo" Buford a legend. Don't tell these men how to play. Do a little research. Hate the Stones all you want, but Muddy sure Didn't. He taught them.
