<-- Week 38 HOME Week 40 -->

Sunday 9.24
The Patriots finally won a football game. I watched it while eating a cheeseburger club and fries from Ken's. The burger was good, but the fries were cold. It's better to eat at the restaurant. For dinner I had the last piece of rum cake. I remembered to take a picture this time. The burger won't be in the top three but the rum cake probably will be.

Monday 9.25
For the second Monday in a row, my weight was way up. I just had pretzels for lunch. For dinner, I had a small filet mignon with a corn and tomato salad. Not much food for the day but my dinner was very good.

Tuesday 9.26
My weight was better today but I still tried not to eat too much. I had half a bologna sandwich and some pretzels for lunch. Then for dinner I made pork and cabbage. I did something similar to what I did a couple weeks ago but used tenderloin instead of chops. It was better with chops, but the cabbage was fantastic. I also made habanero-tomatillo hot sauce which I sampled on a little potato. It is seriously hot.

Wednesday 9.27
I had a luncheon meeting for work which I assumed meant that we would eat as we met. It turned out that we met and then were supposed to eat. But by the time we got to eating it was after 1:00 which made me aggravated so I went to get food on my own. There was a place called Dave's Hot Chicken just down the road so I decided to go there, but when I got there it was still being built. So I went next door to Legal Sea Foods. Long story short, I got a dish called Mexican Street Cod which was decent.

On the way home I stopped at Wilson Farm to get some chicken to make tacos so I could use the hot sauce I made last night. There I also got some spice drops which were kinda weird. The green, white, and yellow ones all tasted too floral for me. The black, orange, and red ones were good though. From Wilson Farm, I went to Verrill Farm to pick up my CSA. I got collard greens, a leek, a summer squash, some onions, poblanos, tomatoes, and a kabocha squash.

For dinner, I made chicken tacos which I dressed with onion, cilantro, sour cream, and my new hot sauce. I also made a couple of margaritas for Kelly and me. I wanted dessert, but figured I already had spice drops.

Thursday 9.28
I ended up eating turkey twice today pretty much by accident. I started with the russian turkey melt at DeNo's. It's just turkey, bacon, cheese, and russian dressing. Not the best sub there.

For dinner we went to West Village Tavern and I ended up getting the turkey dinner. Not the best either. The turkey was sliced too thin, the carrots were pretty bad, and it came with a baked potato instead of mashed potatoes. The baked potato wasn't too bad, it just doesn't belong with turkey dinner. I also ate way too many of Thomas's french fries.

Friday 9.29
I started the day with a little sandwich, ham, bologna, cheese, and mustard. I also had some pretzels. For dinner we started with cheese and crackers, Mt. Alice by the von Trapp Farmstead. Then we had flank steak, collards with bacon and onion, and pureed kabocha squash with leeks. Dessert was ice cream with honey and cinnamon. I rounded up the night with a cold slice of my son's leftover pizza from last night, but I had that after midnight so maybe it should be on the Saturday post.

Saturday 9.30
I wanted a roast beef sandwich today and looked up a best list. It suggested a few and I settled on Billy's Famous Roast Beef in Wakefield. Once we got there, I realized I had been there before about five or six years ago. The roast beef sandwich was good and very big. I also like the pizza roll and the fries were decent. That meal was big enough to get me through the day so tonight we just had a little dessert from Verrill Farm. Kelly and I split a cherry pie bar and an apple cheesecake bar. I also had a cup of my maple tea from Ottawa.

Top Three
The roast beef from Billy's was very good and so was the ice cream with honey and cinnamon. And even though the rum cake was more from last week, I'm including my leftover slice in this week's top three. Here are the three best things I ate:
3. Rum Cake (Sunday)
2. Tacos with Homemade Hot Sauce (Wednesday)
1. Steak, Collards, and Squash (Friday)
