Persistently, several challenges have on several times continued to bedevil Cargo Village which is a very vital arm of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN.

Against this backdrop, report from the aviation cycle reveals that trend of Cargo leaving Nigeria are being frequently rejected in international markets, particularly in Europe and America at the instance of sighting the country's level of quality at the international Air space.

Also, the international Air Transport Organisation, IATA, have identified high charges by airports as a whooping hindrance to the growth and profitability of indigenous carriers.

The delays and excessive charges for cargo at Airports can lead to substantial economic losses at a daily estimate that will cost the global cargo air industry approximately $500million.

While Speaking with Newsmen, experts noted with dismay the exorbitant charges at Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport and Lagos airport, saying that both airports record the highest charges among other African Airports.

Shortly after the monthly meeting briefing with FAAN, Managing Director, Kabiru Mohammed and AviaCargo Coordinator Ikechi Uko, said that there is a five stage project plan wich is almost completed.

He noted that other part of the project includes the collation and report writing of the findings by subject matter experts.

While noting another ten (10) points by the committee for implementation, the FAAN Cargo Bill of rights that guarantees the swift transparent and efficient handling of good that steps into any Nigerian Airport was talked about seriously.

While stating that Nigerian exports are rejected because they are unknown and cannot be traced , the Cargo guru pointed out that designated Cargo village will transform Unknown Goods to Known Goods.

He however told the press that nothing will be accepted at the airport that cannot be traced and did not pass through the pathway if the secure supply chain is implemented.

The identification levels of registration and certification needed for the industry will be starting from farm registration to certification of Cargo agents, handling companies and freight forwarders.

The above implies that the Federal Government have to intervene speedily as a matter of importance. The Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR will help to stop the continuous repeat of this by applying the global standard and enforcing same in Nigeria.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN have to braise up action to while asking government the IATA IOSA for both airlines and the players in the cargo ecosystem.

Globally, the major function of the AviaCargo Village is to transform unknown or unsecured to known goods before export.

Establishing and enforcing 'Cargo Bill of Rights' will make possible the Federal Government step to eliminate export Cargo rejection for Nigeria.

FAAN as a body will also implement a New service level agreement that will practically overhaul the entire Cargo operation in Nigeria.

As a News medium, we align our views to the saying that global standard be enforced speedily, mostly now the President Tinubu's administration is poised to renewing every sector of economy as captured in the Renewed Hope policy.
