Don't know much about History
Don't know much Biology
Don't know much about a Science book
Don't know much about the French I took

Here is why I am an optimist. There are fellow humans on this planet, a species which I resemble, who not only write the following, but UNDERSTAND it.
"We achieved this experimental milestone by entangling two identical photons and customizing their shared wave-function in such a way that their topology or structure becomes apparent only when the photons are treated as a unified entity,"

"Holy shit, don't say that; say Holy macaroni," as my grandson would say, parroting our admonition against repeating things he has heard us (me) say.
HOLY SHIT, Indeed!
As long as we have people capable of understanding such concepts, we will survive as a species.
Now if we can only get them to run for office and vote.
Because herein lies the problem. We have candidates with an actual chance of being elected who lack fundamental understanding of common things like, are you ready for it...?
Magnets.
The leading Republican candidate doesn't even have the most fundamental understanding of how magnetism works. Something must sixth graders could explain. He said if you put a magnet in water it stops working...hmm.
He doesn't even know his ignorance is reflected sarcastically in a rap song by Insane Clown Posse. (Yes, I know who they are.)
"I don't wanna talk to a scientist. Y'all motherfuckers lying and getting me pissed," the Insane Clown Posse rap in "Miracles.

And, at the risk of a cheap joke, the leading Democrat was around, god love him, when magnetism was invented.
Our choice lies between someone who struggles with even the most basic concepts of history and science and someone who has been there almost from the start of time...
If there is any saving grace, at least one appreciates the danger facing this country from the would-be dictator. (Even if just for "day one.")
As an editorial in the New York Times so well said,
"By now, most American voters should have no illusions about who Mr. Trump is. During his many years as a real estate developer and a television personality, then as president and as a dominant figure in the Republican Party, Mr. Trump demonstrated a character and temperament that render him utterly unfit for high office."

Let's hope some of the brilliance physicists and cosmologists have trickles down to the rest of America and we don't put the former Buffoon in Chief back in office. And if it turns out our only alternative is a kind, well-intentioned, but a bit past his prime Joe Biden, it is an infinitely better choice.
Our government is not just one person, it is a conglomeration of people seeking to support the policies of the President. In this case, the choice is even more stark. One group has the interest of the country at heart and the character to support that cause. The other are self-centered sycophants whose only concern is their own success.
Choose wisely, America.
