| Mark Joseph Jochim February 14 | WWW Wednesdays is a bookish meme that was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived by "fledgling writer" Sam A. Stevens on Taking on a World of Words. To participate, you just answer the Three W's: - What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you'll read next?
Currently Reading: I chose this one to fulfill the "book set in Africa" February prompt for the Crossing Continents Reading Challenge due to the many praises I have heard about it. However, its length (more than a thousand pages in my epub version) and a somewhat dense start may keep me from finishing it this month. I only managed 20 pages on my first evening reading it last night before I was too tired to continue. I hope it becomes an easier read soon or I may have to switch to another book. This collection of translated fairy tales well-known by Thai children should be a quick read and my thirteenth to finish in 2024. Recently Finished: The Tusks of Extinction was short but I found it a bit confusing. Mammoths are brought back from extinction. To relearn how to behave as mammoths once again, the digitized consciousness of an elephant behavior expert is uploaded into the brain of a mammoth. The scientist is murdered and the mammoths are struggling to survive. Sometimes, the story is told through the viewpoint of humans and sometimes of mammoths and I often could not figure out which was which. Reading Next: These are the final two books on my February TBR but I am having doubts about whether or not I will finish these in the next 15 days along with The Poisonwood Bible and compilation of Thai fairy tales. I will try to start one of these within the next couple of days. Happy Reading! | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
