Can you imagine eating brown rice, broccoli with some chili paste for an entire year? I guess it is a sacrifice some people are willing to take. This was the case for Melbournian Maggie Zhang, who now owns 6 properties all across Melbourne. In addition to running this property investment venture with a business partner, she also works as a healthcare management consultant. Her properties include her own home in Melbourne, a unit in Heathmont and properties in Broadmeadows and Frankston.
Admitting that it was difficult to eat the meal she did each night and on some days missing meals, Zhang felt it was worth it, as she got to save every dollar so she wouldn't miss out on the property investment opportunity. Talking with real estate.com.au, Zhang said:
"I was happy to eat brown rice, baby broccolis and chilli sauce for dinner for a year when things were tight rather than miss out on a property opportunity".
With inflation easing, Zhang feels that the good days are coming with possible imminent interest rate cuts! So she does encourage those who can to get into the market:
"I think now is a really good time to get into the market, investors are really aware rate cuts are imminent although no-one knows when".
Good luck to her and her property venture!
