My life became hectic once the new school year started on May 8th. I have 28 K1 (3- and 4-year old) kiddoes this year -- 14 boys and 14 girls -- all of whom are extremely active and render the three teachers in our classroom totally exhausted by the time 15:30 rolls around each afternoon.
Most evenings, the ONLY thing I managed to do before falling asleep was to read. I never once went below 100 pages per day and once I topped-out at a whopping 708 pages! That occurred the day before I completed the nineth -- and last book on my May TBR, something I did not think I would manage.
After a week of rain in the early part of May, the heatwave returned with a vengeance. At one point, it was reported that the temperature of the Andaman Sea off the coast of my island was so hot that it was bleaching the coral. Needless to say, the tourists stayed away from the beaches once the warning flags went out.
Thankfully, the rain seems to have returned to stay with heavy downpours on the last day of the month and today, the first of June, which begins a three-day weekend (Monday is Queen Suthida's birthday). I would not mind if it rained all weekend long as I hope to read a bunch and do a few other indoor activities (school materials creation and working on my bullet journal chief amongst them).

This month's selection for the Crossing Continents Challenge -- a book set in Antarctica -- was the initial inspiration for the challenge in the first place. Unfortunately, I do not recall where the recommendation came from; I probably read a review on a book blog. There are also two books which will qualify for the Bookish Books reading challenge, which I had all but forgotten about for a couple of months until I read Great Short Books in mid-May.
