As we are half way of the year, it is time to think about which 5 books read standout as being most enjoyable.
I list all books I read using the hashtag on Instragram #wonderwall360reading2024
Will I feel the same about these books by the end of the year?
In no particular order here are the Top 5 of the year so far
1. You are here by David Mitchel review
A new book by writer of my favourite book One Day. It did not disappoint although not as enjoyable as one day.
2. Enjoying reading the series of books by Ellie Griffith featuring the gay Sikh detective Harbinder; the centeral character is obviously a bit different to similar books in the genre. The books also feature a range of unique characters terms. I read the first one in the series at the end of last year and in 2024 have read; Post Script Murders andBleeding Heart Yard. I'm on the waiting list for the fourth installment that has just come out.
3. In the mind of a murder by Michael Wood. I have previously been reading Michael Wood's Martilida Darke crime thrillers set in my home town Sheffield. This book was the start of the next series. This book is not set in Sheffield but I enjoy it enough to read more of the series.
4. Apple Tree Yard by Louise Doughy. A book full of intrigue!
5. How to disappear by Gillian McAllister. A thriller about how witness protection works, with some great twists at the end!
