My friends and I tried a new place for lunch on Saturday. Called White Tail Meadow it is just about forty minutes south of downtown Winnipeg on St. Mary's Road.
It has a restaurant, store, wedding venue and a lovely cottage for rent. The restaurant can accommodate lots of diners on two levels.
There isn't any table service so you have to pick up your food.
A variety of soup, salad and sandwich options are on offer at reasonable prices.
We chose to enjoy our meals on the upper level.
There are lots of different seating areas- little nooks, tables by sunny windows and even couches.
Interesting antiques are on view throughout the venue.
We were celebrating a friend's birthday and the upper level afforded us lots of privacy.
There is a store for browsing and shopping and they have a wide variety of items for sale all laid out in eye-catching displays.
I went out to the backyard before we left and it was meticulously groomed and landscaped with a pond, wooden bridge and lawn swings in view.
The proprietors didn't seem to mind that we hung around for several hours visiting after our meal.
White Tail Meadow is a well-maintained little country getaway. It provided a nice setting for our birthday lunch.
