What am I talking about? Well, a very good question.
On Tuesday night, it was the formal launch of Whitley Bay based poet (and a member of North Tyneside Writers' Circle) Steve Lancaster's collection of poetry, 'Spaghetti Catch'. You can purchase your own copy online here.
Given the title of the collection, Steve and his lovely wife EMma embraced the spaghetti theme, bringing together a whole range of fun activities, including building structures from spaghetti and marshmallows, printing with dried pasta, knotting spaghetti, and "throwing sticky unicorns at a window". The latter may not SOUND like something you know, but those of a certain age may remember those sticky little men that you threw at windows, then watched them as they raced down the glass.
Now, of course the focus of the evening was Steve's wonderful poetry, supported by the stunning focal talents of Renata Connors, BUT, I won the unicorn race! Which was incredibly exciting. I won a colander! Which you can see me modelling in the slideshow below...
Anyway, do click on through to Steve's website, and if you get the chance to see either him or Renata performing in the Tyneside region, make sure you take it.
