WWW Wednesdays is a bookish meme that was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived by "fledgling writer" Sam A. Stevens on Taking on a World of Words. To participate, you just answer the Three W's:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you'll read next?
Currently Reading:
The Secret River -- set in Australia -- is my choice for this month's Crossing Continents Challenge. I started it last night and it is really flowing nicely so far, being the first in a series of three concerning the fictional Thornhill family following their transportation to the penal colony at New South Wales in 1806.
The latest Hillerman novel set in the Four Corners region of the U.S. Southwest, Lost Birds features the retired Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn and his partner Louisa much more than recent mysteries in which the lead is taken by the married Navajo Police officers Joe Chee or Bernie Manuelito.
I am currently reading the May 1944 entries and am dreading the ending with Anne and the others hiding the Annex are discovered and arrested at the beginning of August.
Recently Finished:
Nothing at all since last week!
Reading Next:
Hampton Sides is the author of what remains my favorite of all history books -- Blood and Thunder. When I found he had published an account of James Cook's third voyage of circumnavigation, I just knew I had to have a copy. I hope to add it to my TBR in August or September.
New Steve Berry thrillers do not remain unread for very long and this, too, will be on an upcoming TBR sooner rather than later.
Happy Reading!
