It's our wedding anniversary. We celebrated last night with a dinner out with friends, champagne and a beautiful cake from D'Nardi's.
We are going to celebrate again today with a bike ride with another group of friends and finishing the huge cake we barely made a dent in last night.
Celebrating last year at a marvellous anniversary meal our children made for our immediate family that was rounded off with speeches, a song our sons wrote for us, and a meaningful gift
Last year was our 50th anniversary and I wrote a newspaper column about that milestone.
Walking into our wedding on my Dad's arm
This summer I have attended three funerals, one for my Dad, one for my mother's oldest and dearest friend, and one for a friend and former neighbour.
It's reminded me of the need to appreciate every moment of a marriage especially when you are past the 50th mark. You can't be sure how many more you'll have.
Each anniversary is truly a gift.
