After a six-year absence from the University, I had the opportunity to substitute in an orientation class for international and third-culture students. Standing before them, I was awash with the names and faces of those who had gone before, with the laughter, doubt, pain, and fierce faith of hundreds of students from all over the world. Today, those graduates are writers, translators, doctors, church planters, businessman, and computer gurus. And they taught me so much over those two decades.
Maybe you are starting University this week. Or maybe you just dropped your emerging adult off at university. Following here are a few links to some lessons that might be helpful to any student (or parent) navigating life these days:
Welcome, Freshmen! Whatever your fear, your Heavenly Father cares!
Welcome, Freshmen: Pt. 2 Education is not all about you.
Welcome, Freshmen: Pt. 3 Growth doesn't always feel good.
Welcome, Freshmen: Pt. 4 Resting is dependence.
Whether you are a student or a parent, may the Lord bless you and keep you as you study His ways, His Word, and His world by the power of His Spirit.
Here is a Prayer at the Start of the New Year as well as some ways you can pray for missionary kids at the start of the school.
Want more? You can start at the beginning since today is the 7th anniversary of this blog.
