My worst and best habits coincide
For they both want the best out of life
Each encounter I make
I hold it up to the sunlight
Examine it carefully
Expecting it to show me a secret door
Leading me to an untold world
An unwritten fairytale is stained in your eyes and I run towards it only to find it doesn't exist
What I am trying to express is simply this
I believe each meeting is special
Hold it up to unimaginable standards of asteroids crashing and mountains moving
It's never just a simple hi or bland goodbye
It's always bigger than this world
Far out in the universe
Meaning of life
Poetry writing sort of meeting
I find strength in this superpower but also know it's my kryptonite
For not every meeting is deserving of this treatment
Not every thought needs to be archived and stored for future safekeeping
Sometimes a meeting is just a simple hi
Nothing more
Nothing less
Sometimes our worst habits can eat us up slowly
Tear away the things we like the most
Like flirting with a stranger for the sake of it
Not expecting the stars to stop shining because they too are mesmerized by it
But it can also be the best habit
For if you always have the biggest outcome in mind
You might just make it come true
If you always believe tomorrow will be better than today you greet the day with a smile instead of dread
And if I believe I saw the planets rotate when I looked into your eyes
There's a possibility that this time might be true
